Sally D’s Mobile Photography Challenge: Nature

On my walk, early winter, June 2015
On my walk, early winter … the trunk of a gum tree (eucalyptus), and the autumn leaves of an oak.

The theme this week over at Sally’s is Nature. I took this photo last month, with the Nokia Lumia 530. The image is now 445KB / 10MB. Should I reduce the quality further for the blog?

The photo of the yellow gum blossom was taken ages ago, with the Lumia 520. This gum is flowering again and attracting our local pair of lorikeets. The tree next to it has red blossoms. The honey-eaters love them both.

This morning, towards the end of my backyard walking, I looked up over at the gum tree out front of our place and saw a lorikeet, a galah, and a cockatoo all sitting only about a yard from each other in a triangular pattern. It looked really funny … just the one of each. The lorikeet was whistling out for seed, but vanished as soon as I showed up with seed and the camera. Only the cockatoo stayed perched. I hope you are all having a relaxed day.

I’m about to go back out to work. And, if you are curious, I did do a little index card creation for the Mahjong prompt. As to the novel, no actual writing, but a lot of thinking.  🙂

    1. Probably at the nearest sports ground or paddock (or roadsides) digging up onion weed, Sue. We hardly get the noisy miners here, but I notice a lot of them in the next block.
