As you can see, it is a lovely sunny day here. We’re expecting to reach 30C or higher. The grass is running to seed already, and the spring bulbs are dying back.

I hope you are enjoying your weekend. We’ve had a long one, as our Premier gave us a public holiday on Friday, it being the eve of our Australian Football League’s Grand Final which was held in Melbourne yesterday.

I did a blog post about the Grand Final last year. Hawthorn has now won three years running.

It means my fantasy footy season is over, too.  I didn’t go in as many ‘leagues’ as usual this year. I favour the draft style game, were where we have unique players within our league. Mr R is still quite bemused how I manage to get in the upper half of the rankings when I spend barely an hour each week on my teams. He probably has his team done for next year already … LOL.

Catch you later. This time, I really am going offline.  Where has the day gone! We only have 23 hours today, since we began daylight saving this morning.

Take care of yourselves.   🙂

I started blogging in an effort to keep the old brain cells alive. I'm writing a fantasy series, I take more MOOCs than I can handle, and am trying to get my Nikon D3000 off auto. I live in Victoria, Australia, with my husband and our dog, Vika.

  1. Great photo’s, flowers & bees. Don’t talk to me about daylight saving, hate it. We did all right without it for years, can’t see why we have to have it especially as a lot of people can now alter their work hours. Had great day at dancing comps, some absolutely beautiful frocks, and they cost a fortune, you have to be really dedicated. Some of the little kids were very good, can just imagine them in5 to 10 years time when they have grown up.

    1. I’ve gotten used to daylight saving, Sue, and I have to say I like getting home from work when it’s still daylight. And it’s a decent time when the dog decides I should be awake in the morning. We tend to wake up with the sun these days, despite the time.

It lovely that the young kids are taking on the dancing. TV shows like ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ must help keep it alive.

  2. All really fine pictures…particularly like the contrast, composition and clarity in the Australian Native Daphne photo…will print it out and mount if you don’t mind…to remind me that on the other side of the world it is warm and sunny. We are experiencing, inland as we are, the gloomy rain of Hurricane Joaquin…ugh.

    1. Thank you Carol Ann. Of course I don’t mind you printing any of my photos. I’m flattered. That particular one had so many strong diagonals in it, it was hard to know where to crop – I guess I got it right!

I haven’t been taking notice of the news, no doubt your Hurricane has been mentioned. I hope it clears soon.
