Birdbath Fun

Trying out the gallery format of this new theme…

Despite the coolness of today, the  sparrows decided to have a prolonged bathing session.

A very unsparrowlike look – I cracked up laughing when I uploaded the photos.

Later, all the splashing attracted a honeyeater…

And then my battery went flat. I changed the battery, reset to ‘sports’.  (The faster setting shortened the light exposure, of course. I should have stuck to ‘auto’.)

Pretty soon the honeyeater, too, sported the shaggy look.

Taken with the Nikon D3000 DSLR, through my back window overlooking the birdbath.

Thanks for looking, hope these made you smile as much as they did me.

Do have a great week.

I started blogging in an effort to keep the old brain cells alive. I'm writing a fantasy series, I take more MOOCs than I can handle, and am trying to get my Nikon D3000 off auto. I live in Victoria, Australia, with my husband and our dog, Vika.

  1. They did make me smile, Christine. Watching birds in the birdbath in my yard is one of my favorite activities, but your photographs provided close-ups my eyes don’t. I also really like the new theme and gallery format.

Tell me what you're thinking.
