Acanthiza lineata: Striated Thornbill

This little cutie visited last night, no doubt feeding on aphids on my rose bush. I had the Nikon D3000 handy, not expecting much in the poor light.

There were two of the little thornbills, and one had a bit of a splash in the birdbath right out the window, staying long enough to pose on the edge before dashing away.

Is that not the cutest thing you’ve seen since looking at cat pictures on International Cat Day!

Thanks for looking.

I started blogging in an effort to keep the old brain cells alive. I'm writing a fantasy series, I take more MOOCs than I can handle, and am trying to get my Nikon D3000 off auto. I live in Victoria, Australia, with my husband and our dog, Vika.
